Your private notes can be on whatever you'd like. They are stored as plain text and act simply like a scrapbook. You can store lists of your enemies, notes to yourself, etc.
Your public profile is also stored at plain text, but can be viewed by any other member of LORE. Use this to write background information on your planet, it's culture and traditions, or simply a warning to those who may attack you! You could even mention any informal alliances here that you are part of. Profiles are viewed from the Sectors page.
Abusive language may be editted at the discretion of the administrator, especially publicly viewable profiles.
